Fill it up with Love and Plow it

This weekend, Love Tractor is headed to Manor, Texas (just outside of Austin) to compete in the USA Ultimate South Central Mixed Regionals. We secured our bid two weeks ago by winning the Rocky Mountain Sectionals tournament - going 5-0! (see the final results)
We're coming in seeded #2 followed closely by our Colorado friends: Mesteno, Killjoy, and Swingline. The #1 seed is Cosa Nostra from Texas, who swept their sectionals. The competition at Regionals will be fierce, but Love Tractor is fueled up, ready to make an impact!
Our first game is against Grass Fight, a team from Dallas, TX. While seeded third in our pool, their only loss at sectionals was against Cosa Nostra. We'll move on to playing The Strangers from Golden, CO - not really strangers to us. We'll then play Killjoy, from Fort Collins. While we did beat them in the finals of sectionals, they beat us earlier in the season at Colorado Cup - it's sure to be a fight! Our final game of the day will be against the Beta Iota Delta from Austin, who placed third at the Texas Sectionals. Sunday morning, we'll wake up early to play Tlacuache, the 6th Seed in our pool before entering in to bracket play. Sunday bracket play is single elimination.
The South Central Region is only sending 1 team to Nationals in Florida this year, so every game matters! You can follow the action using USAUltimate Score Reporter or for more detailed and instant updates, follow us on twitter: @love_tractor!
Hello all you wonderful Tractor parts… hope the day finds you well. This Saturday (June 9th) I will be hosting our 1st “Saturday Skills and Drills with Stanley” … it will be a chance to get out and get some extra throwing in with friends. Don’t feel obligated to show up by any means. If you have plans to go camping, hiking, or simply to enjoy a Saturday away from frisbee and Stanley… no worries… enjoy!
However, if you are looking to get some extra throwing in, want to do some running around or just don’t have much else going on you are encouraged to come on out and have some Frisbee fun with friends. The focus of these Saturday sessions will be lots of touches with the disc, lots of drills, throwing etc. We won’t be playing any 7v7 ultimate but might play some 3v3 or box if people want to do that.
So the details: This Saturday at Valmont park… warm up starting at 10am… we will be done by noon! Bring cleats, water, a FRISBEE and a smile…. Hope to see as many of you as possible! Hugs, stanley
Hi... hope everyone is well! Just a quick reminder Love Tractor will be hosting its 2nd open pickup this Tuesday evening... we will be back at Valmont Park... for real this time :) (Valmont Rd and Airport Rd) - for a map or additional information about Love Tractor pickup and tryouts, see our previous blog post: 2012 Open Pickup and Tryouts
While we don't have the fields until 6:30, we probably can get a field set up at 6 and a 2nd one at 6:30... so come on out around 6 to get warmed up and we will have games going by 6:30! Worry not if you see rugby players, they will be clearing out at 6:30 :)
Hope to see you all out tomorrow!
Hi, hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful Spring! Love Tractor will be hosting open pick up for anyone curious about the Tractor, interested in tryouts or just looking for some fun competitive pick up to play. This season to keep tryout numbers proportional to roster size we will be having tryouts by invitation.
So if you want to tryout, show up to pick up and SIGN UP on the "Prospective Tryout List" that will be on the sideline. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me or talk with myself or the other captains at pick-up. (Dave Kamin, Mike Whitaker, Betsy Andrews and Stanley Strunk are the LT captains this season).
Coming off a Fright Flight Championship to close out last year, Love Tractor is excited to be heading into our 5th season continuing on our path toward a more competitive team. The LT will continue to, "Be a TEAM, play hard and have FUN!" Yet, with a strong core to build from we hope to add some new faces into the mix and crank up the intensity on the practice field striving with effort and sacrifice to fulfill the team's potential. Still our primary focus will be playing good fun team ultimate!!
Pickup will be held Tuesday evenings April 17 - May 1st starting at 6:30 at Valmont City Park in Boulder
(Southwest corner of Valmont Rd and Airport Rd)
Soccer kids have the field until 6:30, but normally are winding down by 6 so come on out early to get warmed up so we can get pick up started right at 6:30 as we will be chasing daylight! If we have enough numbers we can get 2 fields going to maximize play time :)
So come on out and help get the Love Tractor tuned up and running strong into another fun filled frisbee season :)
